    Recently completed works – Aquatic Vegetation Removal From the Grantham Canal for our client OCS on behalf of the Canals and Rivers trust.

    Well done to our teams for their fantastic efforts on this job.   The clearance of aquatic weeds and vegetation from the channel is to promote better conveyance of the water and improved habitat.

    The results are clear to see and  has been recognised from CRT the employer who have provided us with excellent feedback.

  • Glastonbury Mill Stream

    26 October 2018

    Glastonbury Mill Stream – Carrying out In-Channel and Banks Clearance, to maintain flow of watercourse and minimise flood risk. In-Channel growth is generally hand cut using long handled hooks and scythes. Long reach hedge cutters, strimmers and brush cutters are used to maintain and clear mixed vegetation on the embankments. In this particular area, a three-man team were able to work with Clients direct staff; floating cuttings downstream where access was poor, allowing a machine driver to remove from channel with shredder bucket.

    ‘As part of our continuous improvement under our ISO 14001:2015 policy, and our commitment to the environment, ATM have just taken delivery of our first 2 hybrid vehicles.  This is the start of a bigger rollout of a cleaner fleet and we have also invested in multiple charging points at our Boroughbridge depot, not just for our own use but to encourage visiting clients and other visitors to charge up for return and ongoing journeys.’

    Competitive rates of Pay

    ATM is one of the UKs leading landscaping, highway maintenance, fencing and vegetation management/maintenance contractors. ATMs portfolio of services includes all aspects of vegetation management/maintenance, landscaping, highway maintenance, fencing and light civil works.

    With nine locations in the UK, our clients include those responsible for managing the Strategic Road Network and Local Authority Networks. We also serve clients in the health, retail, commercial, industrial, airport, MoD and energy sectors.

    Working out of the Weston-Super-Mare Depot applicants will need to be organised and capable of working on their own initiative to carry out scheduled works on a variety of sites throughout the UK. All work is required to be completed to tight deadlines.

    Duties include:

    • Carry out a range of vegetation management tasks such as tree removal, commercial grass cutting, site clearance, strimming, brush cutting, chipping and fencing.
    • Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
    • Undertake general maintenance on small plant and tools making sure all items are fit for purpose.
    • Apply herbicides, herbicides or insecticides on plants or soil to prevent or control weeds

    A full driving license is essential and trailer endorsement would be an advantage. Vegetation management experience would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given. Nationally recognised qualifications that would be an advantage are;

    • NPTC – Chainsaw, Strimmer, Chipper
    • NPTC – Ped mower, Ride on mower, Tree Climbing & chainsaw from rope & harness
    • PA1 & PA6 Spraying Certificate
    • CSCS – LISS card
    • Trailer Endorsement on driving License

    Candidate would need to have experience of working within a team, safely and reliably. High speed road network experience would be a plus.

    Working hours are full time Monday to Friday (44 hours), however overtime will be available in busy periods. On occasions you will be expected to work away from home and at weekends.

    The opportunity to develop and progress within the company will be available once a probationary period is completed.

  • Fish Pass Maintenance

    For 3 years now ATM have been carrying out maintenance checks on various Environment Agency Monitored fish passes throughout the North East from the River Tees to the Scottish Borders. The objective of the visits is to check and maintain the fish passes so migrating fish can travel freely up streams and rivers to spawn. Different Fish pass designs are based around the species of fish that inhabit  the particular stretches of river ranging from traditional passes to modern designs with cameras and fish data collection points.

    Contracts Manager – Weston Super Mare

    We are seeking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager who has the aptitude and ability to be part of a strong team and play a key role in our business expansions.

    You will manage and oversee a range of existing soft estate maintenance, landscaping, vegetation management and environmental services, and assist in the management of a broader spectrum of highway services. Assisting the senior management team in expanding the business portfolio and contracts base in Southern England will form a key part of the role.

    You will be responsible for operational management of high value commercial projects and frameworks, including responsibility for accurate financial management / reporting, full compliance with ISO and National Highway Sector Scheme standards.

    Site Manager – Weston Super Mare

    We are seeking to recruit an experienced Site Manager who has the aptitude and ability to be part of a strong team and play a key role in our business expansion in South West England.

    The purpose of this position is to supervise and manage teams who undertake a range of vegetation management and environmental services. With a hands on approach you will organise, motivate and lead operational teams carrying out a range of activities for key contracts, ensuring a safe, compliant and exceptionally high quality service is delivered at all times. In addition, you will be responsible for carrying out site audits, ensuring plant and equipment is kept in service, maintaining the stock levels of consumables and PPE together with ensuring competence levels of the team are kept up to date.

    The role will require some out of hours working and emergency call out support.

  • Hedge Laying along the Canals of the North West

    16 April 2018

    Here at ATM we have recently completed over 2 KM of Hedge laying in various locations along the Canals of the North West. Working for Fountains and The Canal and Rivers Trust, the sites were challenging due to their condition and remote locations. It is great to use traditional methods to bring these areas back into a maintainable state. Well done all the guys involved!!

  • M5 Gloucester Emergency Tree and Vegetation Clearance Works Completed

    23 March 2018

    As part of our HE Area 1 and 2 CWF Framework contract, ATM responded quickly to mobilise several experienced vegetation removal / arborist teams on Emergency scrub clearance and arboricultural works for Highways England on the M5 near Gloucester.

    Katherine Liddington (Stakeholder Relations Manager), Neil Winter ( Route Manager)  and Soft Estate Managers Jon MacKeen and David Lovejoy  met some of our team on site to thank them for their hard work and sensitive execution.

    These high profile works were completed ahead of the bird nesting season and to the relief and satisfaction of nearby residents.
